Before and After Firefighter Turnout Gear

SERVPRO of Quincy is honored to partner with some Local Heroes: our Firefighters. One way that we can play a small part in helping our First Responders is by washing and decontaminating their Turnout Gear.

Recently, a fire caused a complete loss to a neighborhood home. The small-town volunteer Fire Department that responded had dirty, contaminated turnout gear to deal with afterward. Normally, the department would try to wash the gear themselves in a standard home washing machine. This process is ineffective in cleaning and decontaminating the gear properly.

We at SERVPRO of Quincy have offered to pick up the soiled gear, wash and decontaminate it in our Esporta Wash System and return it to them Free-of-Charge. The assistant chief took us up on that offer and we were excited and honored to be able to give something back. In turn, the Fire Department was excited to get the clean gear back much better than what they were ever able to do themselves.

We will be working together with this and other local Fire Departments to bring this much-needed process into a normal part of their routines.
